New PostJune 4 - Remembering

New Post

It's that time of year. As I watch the kids walking home from school become more animated because hey, it's almost over, I am taken back to how I used to feel when my own was in school.

Man I loved the end of it. When the schedule could be relaxed and the homework battles would cease for a few weeks. Ahhhh, summer and the end of school.

I wish these kids could see themselves now vs the way they trudged from school in February. As an observer I have noted a sharp contrast between the winter trudging and the end of the year bounce.

It's hard to believe that in just under three months turbo-tot nephew will be going off to school not just twice a week, but every day. Wow, where has the time gone?

I remember my son's Kindergarten year. It was only half a day, but for the first few months I did not know what to do with myself. And I am sure I will got through the same type of separation anxiety when turbo-tot begins real school. For he has been part of the fabric of my daily life for a long time now.
