New PostMarch 16 - The Emerald Isle

New Post

Top o' the mornin' to ya. Well while St. Patrick's Day isn't until tomorrow, here in Western Massachusetts it's already on. People preparing for the wearing o' the green all over the place. Seriously, as a former Connecticut-an I cannot believe what a huge deal St. Paddy's days is in Massachusetts. And I suppose I should look it up and find out why huh?

There is a big parade in Holyoke, which is the city next door to my town and the festivities start today I guess. In the years we have been here, we have not attended this parade because well...for us the idea of sitting or standing around watching people walk/march/drive by simply is not all that appealing. We are just not much for parades and never have been.

Yes, I have some Irish in me. But hell, what about the Micmac Indian, the Scottish, and the German too? Does not matter to me much where my ancestors came from and the order in which they mixed it up...I'm American.
